Whenever I fly I happen to remember what Jesus said about the vine and branches in John 15. After the plane lands the captain announces when it's safe to use mobile devices. Without hesitation (almost as if it's a reflex), cell phones are powered up to check messages and emails. Some passengers will immediately make a call while the plane taxis to the terminal.
This says something about our humanity. It says we are created with the need to stay connected. God did not create us to be alone but to live in community! That is the heart of his Methodist congregation in La Grange. We are not perfect, but we are God's forgiven and reconciled people striving to love and serve God. And at the heart of this congregation is a yearning to live in the fellowship God provides.
My invitation is for to take the next step and come worship with us. Come and be connected to the Lord and with His church. I hope this new website keeps you well connected to our ministries and events. I also encourage you to attend the "Coffee with the Pastor" on the 2nd Sunday of each month. It's an informal way to meet me and to learn more about this congregation.
