J. Paul Bruhn is a native of Germany. “He was not born in Texas, but he came here as fast as he could.” He and his wife Marion moved to Dallas in 1993, where J. Paul graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1997. He is an ordained elder and member of the Southwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church since 1999.
J. Paul, Marion and their two children Joshua and Johanna live currently in La Grange, Texas, where he serves as pastor of First United Methodist Church.
J. Paul Bruhn began his ministry as a volunteer in children and youth ministry in Berlin, Germany. He met his wife Marion at the training for United Methodist Layspeakers back in Frankfurt am Main, Germany over twenty years ago.

Michele has been in ministry with La Grange First UMC since September of 2005. She began in ministry as a youth ministry volunteer in 1984 and has been in paid ministry since 1992 throughout Texas and Oklahoma. Michele is a Licensed Local Pastor in the United Methodist Church and is continuing her studies towards becoming an ordained Elder. Michele has four children: John, Taylor, Cameron and Duncan.

Nancy Hajek, a La Grange native, has been directing church choirs since 1983 after graduating from Texas Lutheran University with a degree in music education. While studying at the University, she sang in the concert choir under the direction of Dr. Sigurd Christiansen. Since then, she has directed both choral and handbell choirs and has attended continuing education courses under composers K. Lee Scott, David Davidson, Michael Helman, Eric Nelson, and Andre Thomas. She also founded the Fayette County Chorale in 2002.
Nancy is married to Bobby, and they have three daughters – Sara, Renee, and Anna. She is also an educator in the La Grange Independent School District.

We are welcoming Ms. Stacey Norris as our new Administrative Assistant. Stacey is a native of New York. She holds a BA in Economics and an MA in Political Science. Stacey’s previous work experience includes positions with The Government of the District of Columbia, the American Red Cross in La Grange and other not for profit organizations.
In addition to running the front office of our church, she teaches American Red Cross CPR/First Aid courses. Please stop by the office at your convenience and say hello to the newest member of our office team who helps us "Loving GOD and Living Grace."

Misty began attending La Grange FUMC in January 2006. On January 7, 2007 Misty professed her faith and was baptized. She began working for the church in July of 2007 as the Financial Secretary. Misty is also the Jr. High Sunday school teacher and in on the Children & Youth Council and Board of Trustees.
Misty’s family moved to La Grange in 1979 when she was 2 years old. She attended public school here and graduated class on ’95. She began Blinn College in the fall of 2002 and graduated in May of 2006 with an Associate’s Degree majoring in Account/Business Management. Misty has two boys, Jonathan, age 17 and Michael, age 15. Misty has been a member of the La Grange Optimist Club for 8 years and has served as Vice- President and Secretary and is on the soccer committee. She also volunteers with the La Grange Cub Scouts.
