Once thought to be perfect (at least by himself), Mel Hazlewood now realizes he is but a sinner given real life only by the magnificent grace of God. Considered to be a double threat because he is boring in and out of the pulpit, he is also a recovering attorney (Strike 1) who served as a staff member in the Texas legislature (Strike 2) and a lobbyist at both the federal and state levels (is that 2 more or only 1 more?). Happily married to the saintly Maurie Beth of Denver City and stepfather to two unusually gifted and personable adult children, Andrew and Ashlie, Mel's greatest joy in ministry is no longer a long committee meeting but seeing people give themselves to the Lord. Amen. Amen.

Michele has been in ministry with La Grange First UMC since September of 2005. She began in ministry as a volunteer in 1984 and has been in paid ministry since 1992 throughout Texas and Oklahoma. Michele is currently taking classes at Austin Presbyterian Seminary and is in process to become a Licensed Local Pastor in the United Methodist Church. Michele has four children: John, Taylor, Cameron and Duncan.

Stephanie has been the Administrative Assistant for La Grange FUMC for 2 years. Among her many responsibilities she prepares and prints the weekly bulletins and our monthly newsletter the "Lightshine"
She is married and has four children Timothy - 21; Krystal - 19; Ashleigh - 19; and Kyle - 7.

Misty began attending La Grange FUMC in January 2006. On January 7, 2007 Misty professed her faith and was baptized. She began working for the church in July of 2007 as the Financial Secretary. Misty is also the Jr. High Sunday school teacher and in on the Children & Youth Council.
Misty’s family moved to La Grange in 1979 when she was 2 years old. She attended public school here and graduated class on ’95. She began Blinn College in the fall of 2002 and graduated in May of 2006 with an Associate’s Degree majoring in Account/Business Management. Misty has two boys, Jonathan, age 15 and Michael, age 12. Misty has been a member of the La Grange Optimist Club for 5 years and has served as Vice- President and Secretary and is on the soccer committee. She is also the Committee Chair for the La Grange Cub Scouts.
