Registration for scheduling your church director photos will begin September 1!
You will have three (3) ways to register: On-line at
www.lgfumc.org and follow the link,
in the narthex after church services or call the church office (979) 968-8323.
Every family is welcome to have their picture taken (member or non-member)
Only members or constituents will be put in the church directory.
Dates for pictures are November 1 & 2;
November 29 - December 2 & December 4
Sages & Saints Events
September 9, 5:00 p.m., Sages & Saints will have a Pizza Party
September 21, 10:00 - 12:00, we will incorporate a new program for
Sages & Saints designed to promote spiritual growth which is directly
related to mental health and acuity. There will be stimulating social interaction,
and other interesting and fun activities. We plan to meet the 3rd Tuesday of every
month to provide this additional opportunity to our Sages & Saints.

Community Bible Study
The La Grange Evening Community Bible Study began on Monday, August 23, 2010.
Join us at our host church, Second Baptist Church in La Grange
located at 1010 N. Von Minden. The study is from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm on Monday evenings and will continue throughout the school year. This year we will be covering the book of Genesis.

United Methodist Men BBQ Sign-Up
The Methodist Men will sell barbecue during the Antique Fair September 22 to October 2
New location is at Blue Hills Antique, it is two miles north of Round Top on Rt. 237
There are sign-up sheets in the Narthex.
Thanksgiving Military Drive
The local American Red Cross will be collecting items for its
Thanksgiving Military drive August 1 – September 30.
Playing Cards, DVD/CD’s Phone cards, travel-sized drink mixes, protein bars,
chapstick, dental floss, individual packets of salt, ketchup, mustard, salsa, hot sauce,
and travel size eye drops, foot powder, sunscreen,
bug repellant, Rolaids, Tums, tissues and cough drops.
Monetary donations also accepted to cover cost of postage.
You can drop items off at the church office or at the
Ag building located at 255 Svoboda Lane.
Second Chance Emporium
Second Chance needs help moving furniture. If you are able to help, please call
Roxanna Calley at 249-5148 to have your name and number placed on a call list.
Leaving Items at 2nd Chance: Drop-off time at the Donations Building,
for most items, is 8:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday.
Please do not leave mattresses unattended, then, or at any other time.
State Regulations mandate guidelines for donated mattresses; therefore, all
donated mattresses must first be checked by the Shop Directors! Acceptable mattresses:
(1) Must be clean! This means, no rips or stains. (2) Must be under 10 years old.
Since the Shop Directors are NOT on site after 5:00 P.M. on weekdays, on Saturdays or
Sundays, mattresses may NOT be left on those days! Your car license plate number may
be given to authorities, if this rule is broken. Please do not disrespect 2nd Chance by
“dumping” your unwanted mattresses; your cooperation is appreciated.
